Shred-it Secures Major Civil Service Contract

Shred-it, the confidential document destruction company, today (9th October) announced that the company has been awarded the framework contract for the disposal of confidential and non-confidential paper and cardboard for civil service offices throughout Northern Ireland. The company will employ an additional three people and has purchased a further two on-site confidential shredding trucks to service the contract.

Shred-it, established in Northern Ireland in 2001, provides an on-site confidential shredding and recycling service to organisations concerned with the secure disposal of their information. The company is part of the business services group, DMG Services, which also includes the businesses Filestores and Scan Image Services. Each Shred-it truck has a high powered industrial cross cut shredder on board, which enables the customer to view the shredding as it takes place outside their premises.

Philip Bain, General Manager of Shred-it Northern Ireland, said: “This is a most significant contract for Shred-it in Northern Ireland. The Shred-it service is ideally suited for civil service offices with a requirement for confidential and non-confidential paper destruction as we cover the entire Northern Ireland region. Our service promotes best business practice for organisations that are increasingly seeing the value of secure disposal and recycling of their information. Together with our new members of staff and new equipment, we will work towards a common purpose, that of delivering a high-quality secure service to the civil service offices in Northern Ireland which will result in a reduced impact on the environment through this paper and cardboard recycling service.”
